Directions to Ryton Cricket Club.

The Post Office does not deliver mail to the Cricket Club, its postcode is unreliable for satellite navigation purposes.

The ground is situated just south of the B6317, this is the main road through Ryton now that the village is bypassed by the A695.

To Ryton from the north. It is best to cross the river on the A1 as Scotswood Bridge is occasionally closed on Sundays for maintenance, the closure notices are not always posted on the A1. Having crossed the river, leave the A1 at the first exit A694 signposted Newcastle and Consett, and follow directions for Newcastle.

To Ryton from the south. Leave the A1 at the A694 junction, the second beyond the Metrocentre and follow directions for Newcastle.

After the roundabout at the end of the Metrocentre, the dual carriageway divides. The inside lane goes over Scotswood Bridge to Newcastle, the outside lane goes under Scotswood Bridge to Blaydon roundabout where the dual carriageway ends. From Blaydon roundabout (now controlled by traffic lights), the B6317 is the third exit of four, Ryton is signposted from the roundabout.

Using this map , you will be travelling from right-to-left on the B6317 as you enter Ryton. Approaching Thorp Academy inside the 20mph zone, on the left in quick succession are a large house, a narrow entrance and a bus stop. The narrow entrance is the road to the Cricket Club, the postcode of the big house is NE40 3AQ. The map has been recently updated, the closest street to the cricket club named on the map is "Fairfields". Ask for street names beginning with F (inside the map) to locate the junction.

A new estate called Fairfields Manor is being built a mile or so from the Cricket Club, avoid this.
